| The Mammen Dairy was established as a dairy cooperative in 1911. It functioned as such until 1978, when it was sold to the dairy owner P. J. Staunsbæk, Ulstrupbro Dairy. The Ulstrupbro Dairy then moved production to the Mammen Dairy and the company was incorporated into Mammen. In 1983 the Mammen Dairy Ltd. was established as part of a generation shift in which sons Niels H. Staunsbæk and Lars Staunsbæk became joint owners. |
In 1990 the company expanded with Skytsbjerg Dairy, which produced blue cheese until 2003. Today the cheese is produced at Drøsbro Dairy. The Mammen Dairy produces around 6.000 tonnes of yellow cheese annually of the types Danbo, Samsø and Havarti for both the domestic and international markets.
